As young newlyweds, having just moved across the country, we purchased a sweet – but typical – urban home. It sits on a half acre inside of a moderately sized residential development. Shortly after we settled in, we realized this home would become something so much more than typical…and thus, our little urban farm was born.

We enjoy an organic garden, a lounge area framed by large herb boxes, a butterfly garden, several fruit trees, some crazy chickens, Mason Bees, and maybe even some bats (if they ever decide to move into the condo we’ve provided). This year, we have expanded our scope to include ducks, Honey Bees and edible landscaping. We are focused on creating an ecologically designed urban property that promotes permacultural ideals and preserves biodiversity.

…And let’s face it; at the end of a hard day of work on the “farm,” we also enjoy lounging back with a cold beer, cocktail or glass of wine.

Here you will find how-to’s, educational information relating to gardening, health and sustainability, recipes and the daily going-ons of life on an urban farm. We’re hoping to facilitate a place of learning and inspire others in their own green endeavors along the way!
